Maroon cloth with gilt lettering on spine, corners slightly bumped, remains of former owner's sticker on fep. The navy Dust Jacket with white lettering has some edgewear, rubbing, few chips and tears top and bottom edges, creases on bottom front. 420 pages are tight and bright. The book traces the development of the Bible throughout its long history, examines the numerous versions and makes it plain that no translation accurately conveys in its every passage either the primary sense or the aesthetic flavor of the original.
